Eat Breakfast Every Day

It’s 2018 and everyone has a list of 2000 things to get done that were all due yesterday. How can anyone be bothered to eat breakfast in the morning? Here is a list of 5 reasons that eating breakfast may actually help with your busy schedule.

  1. Metabolism Kick-Start: These are the benefits everyone has heard before. Give your metabolism a kick in the pants at the start of each day.
  2. Memory and Concentration: If your one of the lucky few that has a job that doesn’t require memory or concentration, perhaps you don’t need to eat breakfast. For the rest of us, eating breakfast within one hour of waking up will improve our work performance.
  3. Low Risk: Studies have shown that people that eat a healthy breakfast are at lower risk of developing diabetes and heart disease. It may not be the breakfast that is the direct cause of the lower risk. People that eat breakfast are also less likely to be overweight and being overweight has a strong correlation with many health risks. You can’t get your list of 2000 things done if you’re dead.
  4. Stress and Anxiety: If you have problems with stress and anxiety, eating a breakfast high in protein and healthy fats may help keep you mentally stable. When you have stress and anxiety for long periods of time, your body will produce large amounts of insulin. That’s why breakfast composed of sugars and simple carbohydrates won’t reduce your stress levels.
  5. Delicious: Is there really anyone that doesn’t like breakfast food? With the exception of our vegan friends, virtually everyone wants to be eating a plate of bacon and eggs every morning.
